I heard a man share a testimony about 1 Corinthians 13:13
"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three but the greatest of these is love."
His story was intriguing and his words got me thinking. Here's a bit of what he shared and a bit of my thoughts combined.

The Bible often puts things in three's. This one - faith, hope, and love are place together for a reason.

When we are having the faith crisis, or hope diminishes. So when we are struggling in faith, and our hope is lacking, we must fall back on love because it is the greatest of all.
Love never fails, it is never shaken, it will never die. Love restores hope, which gives birth to faith. So, when we are having a faith crisis, and hope is gone, we fall back on love because love will never fail.

The assurance of this love rests in the story and the Child King who came as a baby to give His life for us. This King who lived humbly in the world as a human, making Him relatable and relevant to us, then gave up His life willing. Even for those who would never choose Him. This is reassurance of an unshakable Love, and an unshakable King.

So, when we are having a crisis of faith and hope is lacking we fall back on Love, a Love that will never fail us.

It's Christmas, and whether we have the exact date right or not doesn't really matter - this is the time to celebrate the ultimate demonstration of love.

John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."

We cannot be shown a greater act of love than the one Jesus did for us!  So as we wrap up this year and ready ourselves for the next, let's walk in with a steadfast assurance that Love will not fail us. And in the moments where your faith is small and our hope seems lost, throw yourself back on love and watch your faith and hope come alive and an unshakable Love lifts you up again.
