Isn’t it great that God has given us gifts and talents that we love doing? Most dancers dance because when they feel and hear a beat, it is hard to stop moving or imagining a dance or certain move. When musicians hear a song that speaks to them, they go off and practice that song until they have mastered it. Artists are able to express themselves not through word but by the stroke of their hand. Photographers have eyes to see beauty in everything and capture even the most ordinary scenes to communicate what they see. How much greater are these gifts when we partner with the one who installed them into us? Let’s partner with one who knows exactly how they should be used: God.
I have been praying about this school and I am so excited for what God is going to do. I feel that this October MAD DTS is going to be about living extraordinarily in the ordinary day. In Matthew 4:23-24 it says, “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. News about Him spread all over Syria, and people brought to Him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and He healed them.” It is so exciting when I read this verse because the same power that Jesus carried with Him when He did these things, we also have inside of us!
This is an opportunity for students to grow deeper in their relationship with God, learn how to hear His voice, gain more understanding of who they are as children of God, and so much more! This MAD DTS will equip young people to use the gifts and the talents God has given them for His kingdom whether that is being a light in Hollywood, leading worship, teaching dance to young people, and bring hope through fine arts and photography.
In the end, the ultimate goal is for all of our hearts and minds to be always looking at God. In everything we do, we should be giving glory to God. It is all about him and His amazing love!
