In late 2013, we began the adventure of opening The Meeting Place Cafe (TMPC) here at YWAM Brisbane. Our little cafe in Mitchelton all began from the vision of a few of our passionate staff members. It started with a heart to see the relationships that we, as YWAM Brisbane, had built in the schools and community continue to grow; to create an environment that allowed them the opportunity to come to us and hang out, to really live out the YWAM values of championing young people, valuing families, and being hospitable.

A few months ago we had an important need — a new espresso machine. We saw that our cafe ministry was growing and reaching out to more and more people each week. Looking at our options of buying a new espresso machine, or even a used one, we knew that it was going to be an investment. We didn’t have the money to purchase a machine at the time, but we trusted that God was growing our cafe for His purposes so He would provide what was needed. We started a GoFundMe page and had a donation jar in our cafe to help raise the money that would be needed.

Well, after a few months of receiving donations and saving up, we are pleased to announce that we have a beautiful new espresso machine! We are so grateful for everyone who supported and donated to help us in this journey. We had so many customers come alongside us and support us in getting a new machine. We believe that this new machine will allow us to continue to make great coffee, which in turn will allow us to connect with our local community and the city of Brisbane. We believe as we begin to use this machine more and more, God will give us greater opportunities to encourage our community and city.
