STAFF OPPORTUNITIES

We're looking for new team members to join in a variety of areas. We'd love to hear what's on your heart and interests. Contact us for more details about the following. A staff role comes with the expectation of a 12 month commitment (minimum, some roles require longer) and are typically full-time. Most roles also have the opportunity to be involved in a local outreach, or occasional rural town outreach. If you're looking for something shorter, consider joining us as a Mission Builder to serve in one of our operational departments for a season of 1-3 months.

 

Training is provided for most roles. Successful completion of a Discipleship Training School with YWAM is required to join staff.

KITCHEN STAFF

We're looking for Kitchen staff and a kitchen manager, someone who has a heart for hospitality and loves to serve with good food to keep our YWAM community fed and nourished! Responsibilities may include: menu planning, shopping, team coordinating, cooking and cleaning, orders and inventory.

HOSPITALITY STAFF

Creating a home on the YWAM Base for guests and members. This includes responsibilities such as morning tea, birthdays, coordinating guests and guest rooms, organizing ‘family’ activities; oversight of housekeeping; team coordination; interior decorating projects, hosting or helping organize events; serving in our community coffee shop.

CAMPUS PASTOR 

This leadership role requires a 4-5 year commitment, and minimum training requirement of completion of the DTS and our Christian Missions course. Role include: Assisting our YWAM community to respond to Biblical teachings, living a Biblical lifestyle. Assisting with services of worship and prayer; sermons, devotions, Bible studies; training in our DTS and leadership programs. Participattion in community activities, encouraging others in their roles, organising community projects. Providing advice and prayer to YWAM staff and students. Attend YWAM gatherings with younger members to encourage them and their personal development. Maintain an ongoing lifestyle of evangelism. Administrative duties.

PROPERTY MANTAINENANCE

This is general upkeep of our property and facilities. This may come with a variety of roles including the following. Upon application we would discuss the best fit for you and our current needs: facilities maintenance and upkeep, painting, yard work and taking care of the gardens, fire safety and campus safety management. Handyman skills are helpful. Trade skills of any sort are useful but not essential (such as plumbing, carpentry, electrics, etc)

CAFE STAFF

YWAM's "Meeting Place Cafe" is our coffee shop open to the public for a good cup of coffee in a friendly environment. We're in need of baristas and servers as well as a cafe manager who have a heart for hospitality and to share Jesus with others. We're also seeking a manager for cafe for oversight of all cafe operations (this role requires additional training and a 2 year commitment).

FLEET MANAGER

 Oversight and management of all YWAM Brisbane vehicles - arranging maintenance and inspections, training new drivers, managing bookings.This role is part-time and can be done alongside another role.

ACCOUNTS/BOOKKEEPING

General bookkeeping responsibilities - accounts receiving, accounts payable, use of MYOB, BAS statements and other such administrative duties.

MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS OFFICE 

Such activities include: creating promotional videos, Updating websites, visual design, marketing tools and social networking sites; photography. Writing articles for website. Using social networking sites for communication. Managing website, google and social media analytics. Publishing a quarterly newsletter.

DTS STAFF

We run 4 DTSs a year, with 2 different themes. DTS staff attend lectures, lead small groups, mentor the students, lead outreach, and arrange logistics for the DTS. YWAM Brisbane requires taking a Basic Leadership School (internship) during or before staffing the DTS. 18 month commitment.

YOUTH MINISTRY STAFF

We have a lot of opportunities with kids and teenagers including working with the neighborhood youth that visit the cafe; religious instruction classes, lunch time and breakfast clubs at local schools; running camps during school holidays; touring country towns visiting schools and youth groups;  assisting with community events; personal development programs for boys and girls in the high schools; connecting with youth at our weekly sport outreach; mentoring programs. Being a part of the youth ministry staff would involve being a part of our Go Teams, which involves some other local ministry activities as well.
